Onyedika Approaches Transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt

Midfielder Raphael Onyedika is close to transferring to Eintracht Frankfurt, as the Bundesliga side has raised their offer to approximately €9 million to secure the 25-year-old from Club Brugge. This move comes amid competition from Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.

According to Bild, the new proposal still falls short of Club Brugge’s valuation of €23 million and is less than the amount they originally paid for Onyedika. Currently under contract with Club Brugge until June 30, 2027, Onyedika's potential departure is pressing for Frankfurt, as they have tracked him for over a year and face the risk of him leaving for free next summer if no renewal agreement is reached.

Frankfurt aims to bolster their midfield after a season where they conceded 65 league goals, the highest among top-half clubs. Onyedika, who earns an annual salary of €677,851, has significant experience, including 24 Champions League appearances and a third-place finish with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
