Opatola Urges FIABCI-Nigeria to Enhance Government Ties

Akin Opatola, the immediate past President of FIABCI-Nigeria, called on the incoming leadership of the organization to build on the visibility achieved during his tenure, deepen government engagement, and expand membership. Opatola noted that one of his key objectives was to increase FIABCI-Nigeria's visibility, which had been limited despite the organization's over fifty-year history.

He emphasized the significance of hosting the FIABCI World Congress, which provided a platform to connect with policymakers and international stakeholders, although President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could not attend due to a scheduling conflict. The Minister of Defence represented him, along with three other ministers and the Lagos State Governor.

Opatola mentioned that FIABCI-Nigeria would soon visit Taichung, Taiwan, with officials from the Federal Ministry of Housing and Lagos State Ministry of Lands to study land administration systems. He also highlighted the participation of Nigerian officials in the UN Spring Symposium on affordable housing and the collaboration with Lagos State to attract international real estate participants.
