Tinubu Condemns Plateau, Kaduna Attacks; Urges Security Action

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has addressed the recent violent attacks in Plateau and Kaduna states, specifically condemning the assault on vulnerable communities. In a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, Tinubu described the attacks as cowardly and an affront to national values.

He directed security agencies to intensify their efforts to prevent further violence, particularly in the northern region of Nigeria. The President warned that such actions often provoke retaliatory violence, which could deepen existing tensions.

He cautioned against misinformation that suggests religious motivations behind the attacks and stressed the importance of community responsibility in restoring peace. Tinubu also called for immediate rescue efforts for those abducted in Kahir Village and welcomed the safe return of two victims previously rescued.

He commended the efforts of Caleb Mutfwang in Plateau and Uba Sani in Kaduna in managing the situation. Furthermore, he expressed sympathy for the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery, assuring that the Nigerian Federal Government is acquiring advanced security equipment to track and apprehend criminal elements in real-time.
