Nigeria Faces Opposition Over Proposed Military Industrial Complex Amid DICON Upgrade

However, security experts like Chidi Omeje question the necessity of a separate MIC, suggesting that enhancing DICON's capabilities would be more effective. Jackson Ojo criticizes the proliferation of security agencies in Nigeria, advocating for strengthening existing institutions rather than creating parallel structures.

The DICON has already undergone significant revitalization, with partnerships with India and China for technology transfer and joint ventures. Concerns persist about the efficiency and resource drain caused by duplicative security agencies in Nigeria.
