APC Criticizes Opposition for Missing INEC Deadline

The All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement asserting that the opposition's failure to meet the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for candidacy submissions reflects their unpreparedness for the upcoming 2027 presidential and national assembly elections. APC's statement, released by Felix Morka, highlighted that the party successfully uploaded its candidates' names by the INEC deadline of July 11, despite having a larger number of candidates contesting various electoral positions.

The APC noted that INEC extended the deadline to July 14 at the request of opposition parties, which they argued demonstrated the opposition's inability to manage their internal processes effectively. The APC emphasized that this situation raises concerns about the operational capacity of opposition parties, questioning their ability to govern Nigeria.

The statement also accused the opposition of hypocrisy and of spreading false narratives regarding INEC's independence, asserting that the APC had adhered to the original deadline and successfully submitted its candidates.
