Orashi Congress Endorses Dumo Lulu-Briggs for 2027 Race

The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has officially endorsed High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), for the 2027 Rivers State governorship race. This decision was made during a Special Convention held in Erema, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, where the ONC discussed the political, developmental, and security challenges facing the Orashi Region and Rivers State.

Nia’Bari Fakae, Special Adviser, Media, to Lulu-Briggs, stated that the endorsement signifies a growing desire among communities for a meaningful voice in governance, rooted in the principle of political equity. The ONC's support is particularly significant in light of ongoing debates about internal party democracy and the influence of powerful political structures.

Fakae noted that Lulu-Briggs has consistently advocated for unity and development in Rivers State and emphasized that the endorsement reflects confidence in a political alternative. Additionally, a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt dismissed a suit challenging Lulu-Briggs's candidacy in July, further solidifying his position.
