Oyo State Commission Invites Public Input on Abduction

The Oyo State Government has established a Judicial Commission of Enquiry to investigate the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in the Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area. The commission, led by Secretary Mrs.

Olamide Sandra Tella, has called for written memoranda from the public containing relevant information about the incident. The notice specifies that submissions should address the circumstances leading to the abduction, the security situation before and after the incident, and responses from authorities.

Individuals submitting memoranda must provide their full names, contact details, and any supporting documents. All memoranda should be directed to the Secretary of the commission and must be submitted by August 14, 2026.

Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the commission on a Friday to ensure a thorough investigation into the abduction incident.
