DSS Witness Reveals 56 Days of Horror for Oyo Kidnapping Victims

In a Federal High Court session in Abuja, a witness from the Department of State Services (DSS) recounted the traumatic experience of 49 kidnapped students and teachers from Orire local government area in Oyo State, who endured 56 days of captivity under the Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina fi-Biladis Sudan terrorist group. The witness, identified as “AAA,” testified before Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim, revealing that the captives were moved to six different locations while barefoot and faced severe conditions, including hunger and lack of water.

On the day of their abduction, armed bandits arrived on twelve motorcycles, shooting to prevent escape. The witness stated that the kidnappers demanded negotiations for the release of their members rather than ransom.

Tragically, two teachers, Deacon John Olaleye and Michael Oyedokun, were beheaded as a demonstration of the kidnappers' brutality. The captives were subjected to inadequate food and harsh treatment, especially towards the young children among them.
