Ortom Denies 2027 Presidential Campaign Poster Claims

Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, issued a statement on Thursday through his media adviser, Terver Akas, denying the authenticity of a viral poster claiming he intends to run for president in the 2027 elections. Ortom described the poster as fake and misleading, asserting that he has no plans to contest for the presidency in the next general elections.

He urged the public to disregard the poster, which he attributed to individuals attempting to create unnecessary political tension and misinformation. Additionally, Ortom refuted rumors regarding his potential defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling such reports false and politically motivated.

He emphasized his unwavering commitment to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and reaffirmed his influential role within the party at both state and national levels.
