Ortom Denies 2027 Senatorial Seat Rumors in Benue

Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, issued a statement on Saturday through his media aide, Terver Akas, denying claims that he intends to contest for a senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections. The denial comes in response to social media speculation suggesting that Ortom was preparing to run for the Benue North-West senatorial seat in the upcoming electoral cycle.

Ortom characterized these rumors as fabrications and politically motivated, urging the public to disregard them. He emphasized that his focus remains on promoting democratic values, strengthening the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and providing leadership guidance rather than seeking electoral office.

Additionally, Ortom accused certain political opponents of spreading falsehoods, alleging that they had gone as far as forging APC membership cards to lend credibility to their claims.
