Ortom Denies Plans to Contest in 2027 Elections

Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, has publicly dismissed speculation regarding his intention to contest for a political office in the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued on Saturday through his media aide, Dr. Terver Akas, Ortom clarified that he has no plans to run for the Benue North West senatorial seat or any other political position in the upcoming election cycle.

He emphasized that he has made his position clear on several occasions, stating unequivocally that he does not intend to contest any elections in 2027. Ortom urged the public to disregard the reports circulating on social media, which he described as fabrications.

He reiterated his commitment to promoting democratic values and providing leadership guidance within the People's Democratic Party (PDP), rather than seeking electoral office.
