NUPENG Slams Oshiomhole as 'Judas Iscariot of Labour' Over Worker Betrayal

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) labeled former Nigeria Labour Congress President, Adams Oshiomhole, as the "Judas Iscariot of Labour" for his comments on recent strikes. NUPENG accused Oshiomhole of betraying workers by justifying the alleged victimization of 800 engineers at Dangote Refinery.

Oshiomhole defended the suspension of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) strike, citing the need for stability amid new investments. In response, NUPENG declared Oshiomhole persona non grata in oil and gas labor activities.

The clash between the union and the former labor leader highlights tensions within the Nigerian labor sector.
