Oshoala's Goal Leads Nigeria to 1-0 Victory Over Zambia

On Saturday, Nigeria's Super Falcons triumphed over Zambia with a score of 1-0 in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations held in Rabat. The match saw Nigeria reduced to 10 players after Blessing Demehin received a red card for fouling Zambia's star striker Barbra Banda in the 40th minute at the Al Medina Stadium.

Despite this setback, Nigeria managed to secure the win, with record six-time African Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala scoring the match-winner just eight minutes into the game. Oshoala outpaced two defenders, and although her initial shot was blocked by Zambia's goalkeeper Hazel Nali, the rebound hit Oshoala's leg and rolled into the net.

Following this match, Malawi leads Group C with six points, while Nigeria and Zambia each have three points, and Egypt has none. Nigeria, the defending champions, is pursuing a record-extending 11th WAFCON title and will face Egypt next.
