Osimhen Faces Surgery, Out for Weeks After Injury

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker for Galatasaray, may undergo surgery due to a fractured right forearm sustained during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg match against Liverpool on Wednesday night. Osimhen was replaced at halftime due to the injury, which prevented him from playing in the second half, leading to Galatasaray's 4-1 aggregate defeat.

Following the match, a statement on the club's official website indicated that further evaluation of the injury would take place. Medical checks confirmed the fracture, and a cast was applied.

Decisions regarding surgery will be made after further evaluation. Various media outlets, including top Turkish journalist Ali Naci Kucuk, reported that Osimhen could be sidelined for at least six weeks if surgery is necessary.

He has been given a few days off during the international break and was seen in Lagos, Nigeria, before returning to Istanbul for re-examination.
