Osimhen Regrets Leaving School, Aims for University Degree

Victor Osimhen, a 27-year-old striker currently playing for Galatasaray, has expressed regret over his decision to drop out of school during his senior secondary education (SS3) to pursue a professional football career. He acknowledged that education remains important despite his success on the pitch and stated his determination to return to school to earn a university degree.

Osimhen, who won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015 under coach Emmanuel Amuneke, emphasized that a football career does not last forever and that he wants to prepare for life after retirement. He shared that his family's financial struggles influenced his decision to focus solely on football at a young age, but he now wishes to inspire young people to stay in school.

Osimhen has had a successful spell at Galatasaray, having completed a permanent transfer from Napoli for €75 million, with a contract running until June 30, 2029, reportedly earning around €21 million per season.
