Tuggar Advocates Global Action for Sahel Crisis at Oslo Forum

At the Oslo Forum, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, called for renewed global engagement to address the Sahel crisis, highlighting the persistent insecurity that threatens lives and undermines state stability. Tuggar, who attended the forum as part of a global platform for conflict mediation and peace diplomacy, stressed the necessity of sustained dialogue and collaborative actions to confront pressing security challenges.

The forum, hosted by Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide, gathered around 150 mediators and conflict experts to discuss pathways to peace in ongoing conflicts worldwide. The event included high-level representatives from various regions, including Kenyan President William Ruto and representatives from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

The Oslo Forum also featured sessions on international humanitarian law and maritime security, reflecting its commitment to addressing global conflict and humanitarian issues.
