OSSAP-SDGs and RHI Support 4,500 Women in South-East

The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs), in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), empowered 4,500 indigent and vulnerable women across the five South-East states with commercial equipment and financial grants. This initiative was launched in Owerri, Imo State, during the South-East zonal flag-off of the RHI Women Economic Empowerment Programme.

Each of the five states received 500 pre-selected women who were given vital business assets. Additionally, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State sponsored 2,000 local beneficiaries.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady and Chairman of RHI, presented a cash grant of ₦100,000 to each of the 2,500 core beneficiaries in Imo State, totaling ₦250 million. The distributed economic empowerment packages included industrial grinding machines, commercial deep-chest freezers, maxi gas cookers with ovens, and power generation units.

The initiative aims to enhance household livelihoods and support grassroots economic stability, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 8.
