Ossiomo Power Plant Clarifies Relationship with Chinese Partner Amid Disputes

Ossiomo Power Plant, a Private Power Plant in Edo State facilitated during Governor Godwin Obaseki's administration, clarified its relationship with Chinese partner Jiangsu Communication Clean Energy Technology (CCETC). The plant debunked claims that CCETC received returns on investment since its establishment, stating they paid N2 billion to CCETC.

Rumors of Obaseki's ownership share in the plant were also dismissed. Disputes between CCETC and Ossiomo led to a shutdown of a transmission line in 2025.

The Edo State Government's involvement in the power sector and the reconnection of electricity distribution lines are part of the ongoing developments in the power plant's operations.
