Adeleke Warns Against Election Rigging in Osun State

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has publicly dismissed assurances from the All Progressives Congress (APC) concerning the credibility of the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15. In a statement issued on Saturday through his spokesperson, Olawale Rashe, Adeleke emphasized the need for voters to remain vigilant against any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.

His remarks were a response to comments made by APC leaders, including Bola Oyebamiji and Adegboyega Oyetola, who had previously pledged support for a free and fair electoral process. Adeleke expressed concern over a sudden shift in the APC's tone, questioning their commitment to democratic principles.

He warned that any federal influence could undermine the election's integrity and called on federal security agencies to maintain neutrality during the electoral process. Adeleke also commended civic groups for mobilizing voters and reiterated his commitment to ensuring a peaceful and fair election, free from intimidation and malpractice.
