Adeleke Accuses APC of Disrupting Osun 2026 Election

Governor Adeleke of Osun State has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to disrupt the governorship election set for August 15, 2026. In a statement released on Wednesday, his spokesperson claimed that the APC is resorting to anti-democratic tactics out of fear of losing the upcoming poll.

According to Adeleke's camp, internal evaluations indicate a significant decline in public support for the APC, with recent opinion polls showing the party's popularity below 30%, while Adeleke's approval rating stands between 68% and 72%. The governor further alleged that recent comments regarding the presidential position have unsettled factions within the Osun APC, heightening tensions among groups linked to former governors.

In response, an APC spokesperson dismissed Adeleke's claims as baseless, suggesting signs of unease within the governor's camp. The statement also mentioned that the APC's attempts to destabilize the political landscape are a last-ditch effort to maintain control.
