Osun Monarch Denies Authorizing Political Endorsement

Oba Wahab Oyedotun, the monarch of Ila in Osun State, stated that he did not authorize any endorsement of candidates for the upcoming gubernatorial elections. This clarification followed a visit by a delegation led by Kolapo Alimi to Governor Ademola Adeleke, where support for the governor's re-election was pledged.

The monarch expressed that he does not favor any political party, which complicates the possibility of endorsing a candidate. He addressed the issue after a statement was issued by the Osun State Commission, which mentioned the delegation's visit.

Oba Oyedotun also noted that he remains a royal father who is not involved in politics, stressing that politicians from various parties, including the People's Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, will always meet and engage in political matters. He urged that he did not approve any endorsements and expressed concern over the misuse of his name in political contexts.
