Osun ADC Elects New Executives Ahead of 2026 Polls

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State conducted its state congress on Saturday in Osogbo, electing a new set of executives under the supervision of Mudashiru Akinlabi, the chairman of the Osun ADC congress committee. The event, attended by delegates from 30 local government areas, was marked by a significant police presence to ensure security. Issa Adesiji, a former chairman of Ilesa West Local Government, emerged as the new chairman, succeeding Rauf Aregbesola, who previously served as the governor. Other elected officials include Adepeju Adigun as treasurer, Funmilad Oyebod as women leader, Ademola Owoad as youth leader, and Oluwaseun Abosed as public secretary. In his acceptance speech, Adesiji urged the new executives to prepare for the August 15, 2026 governorship election, emphasizing the need for hard work and unity within the party to secure victory for their candidate, Najeem Salaam, and his running mate, Yemisi Agiri.
