ADC Elects Emmanuel Famojuro as New Chairman in Ogun

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) conducted its state executive congress in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where Emmanuel Famojuro was elected as the new chairman. The congress, attended by prominent figures such as David Mark and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, aimed to foster unity among party members.

Olatunji Soyinka, the chairman of the congress committee, presented a harmonized list of the new executive, reflecting agreements made by party leaders. Famojuro, in his acceptance speech, called for unity among party members and emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization, particularly involving youth and women.

He urged party leaders to provide guidance and support, highlighting the need for experienced expertise for the party's growth. Meanwhile, Oladimeji Fabiyi, the deputy national financial secretary of the party, praised the congress committee for their efforts.

However, Femi Soluad, leading a faction of the ADC, criticized the congress as a "kangaroo" election, indicating internal divisions within the party.
