ADC Selects Female Running Mate for Osun Governorship

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State has announced the selection of Yemisi Agiri as the female running mate for Najeem Folasayo Salaam, the party's governorship candidate for the upcoming election on August 15, 2026. Salaam emphasized that this choice is part of a strategic effort to enhance representation and inclusion within the party's campaign structure.

The announcement was made during the ADC's state congress held in Osogbo, which was attended by delegates from 30 local government areas and conducted under tight security by the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Services (DSS). The congress also saw the election of new state executives, with Mudashiru Akinlabi supervising the event.

Issa Adesiji emerged as the state chairman, while Lani Baderinwa was elected as secretary. Salaam assured party members of the administration's commitment to pursuing real development across the state and called for unity and support for the new executive team as they prepare for the upcoming election.
