Osun APC Criticizes Adeleke on Police Empowerment Comments

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned Governor Ademola Adeleke for his criticism of the empowerment of police by local government councils. In a statement issued by Kola Olabisi, the APC's Director of Media and Information, the party described Adeleke's comments as uncalculated and ill-motivated.

The APC argued that the governor's actions, which included reinstating local government council chairmen, expose his administration's failure to prioritize security. They questioned why a ruling party would undermine local councils that assist police operations.

The APC also highlighted that N600 million was spent on renovating a local shrine, suggesting misallocation of funds. They reiterated their stance on the legal status of local government chairmen, asserting that the legal process regarding their tenure must be exhausted before any changes.

The APC concluded that Adeleke's administration has shown a lack of capacity to develop Osun State, urging the Accord Party to stop obstructing security efforts.
