APC Warns Adeleke Against N300 Billion Loan Scheme

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a warning to Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding his alleged plan to use the state's 30 local government councils as collateral for a loan of N300 billion from United Bank for Africa (UBA). APC's chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, stated that the party learned of a plot involving Adeleke and members of his kitchen cabinet, who reportedly invited local government council chairmen to discuss the loan.

Lawal condemned the plan, asserting it would add financial burdens to the people of Osun State and described it as an illegitimate scheme that could squander funds intended for grassroots development. In response, spokesperson Olawal Rashe for Adeleke denied any loan plans with UBA and criticized the APC for attempting to hijack the narrative and misrepresent the situation regarding the N250 billion allocated to Osun's local governments.
