Osun APC Commends Police for Thwarting Assassination Plot

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) praised the Osun State Police Command for thwarting an alleged assassination attempt on Wole Ok, the Director General of its governorship campaign council. The commendation followed the arrest of three suspects identified as disc jockey Olalekan Oriyomi, Ayotund Ikupolati, and Femi Fakinley.

The police recovered a Beretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition from the suspects. The incident occurred in Ipete Ijesa on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

APC's statement, signed by Kola Olabisi, emphasized the importance of thorough investigations and the need to rid the state of criminal elements. The party expressed concerns over potential political violence ahead of the upcoming governorship elections, scheduled for August 15, 2026, and urged the police to intensify their efforts.

APC's governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, expressed confidence in the party's prospects in the elections.
