Osun APC Calls for Probe into Oyetola's Leadership

Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, under the APC Stakeholders Forum, have attributed the party's defeat in the August 15, 2026 governorship election to alleged exclusionary practices by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola. In an open letter dated August 18, 2026, addressed to President Bola Tinubu, the forum's Coordinator, Professor Akin Adeyanju, and Secretary, Honourable Sola Ajayi, claimed that Oyetola concentrated political appointments and candidacies within his camp, sidelining party elders and critical stakeholders.

They noted that many federal appointees were from Oyetola's hometown, which they argued weakened party cohesion and alienated influential members. The stakeholders called for an independent review of the Osun APC's leadership and candidate-selection processes, a fact-finding committee to investigate the party's primaries, and a reconciliation meeting involving Oyetola and aggrieved stakeholders.

They also demanded equitable distribution of federal appointments and a transparent framework for future candidate selections.
