Osun Assembly Accuses Sacked APC Chairmen and Governor Oyetola of Diverting ₦50bn Local Government Funds

The Osun State House of Assembly has raised alarm over the alleged illegal diversion of approximately ₦50 billion belonging to local governments in the state. The funds were reportedly diverted by sacked All Progressives Congress (APC) local government chairmen, with Governor Gboyega Oyetola being implicated in facilitating questionable transactions through Unit Bank of Africa (UBA).

The Assembly condemned the actions as a direct violation of the constitution and laws. Speaker Adewale Egbedun highlighted specific payments and expressed concerns over the non-payment of salaries to local government workers for 12 months, despite the massive fund flow.

The Assembly warned against illegal interference in local government affairs and demanded the recovery of the misappropriated funds.
