Osun Commissioner and Gov's Aides Sue IGP for Rights Violations

The Osun State Commissioner and Governor's media aides have filed a lawsuit against the Inspector General of Police in Osogbo, accusing the police of harassment and threats while carrying out their official duties. The suit, filed at the Federal High Court, alleges that the police have been intimidating state officials ahead of the August 8th governorship election.

The affidavit filed by a senior special assistant to the governor, Mr. Hezekiah Oladel Olabamiji, accuses the police of working with faceless politicians, particularly the APC, to arrest and harass Osun State officials, violating their fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution.
