PDP and Accord Raise Alarm Over Unclaimed PVCs in Osun

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord party have expressed alarm regarding unclaimed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Osun State as the governorship election approaches on August 15. In a joint statement signed by Osun PDP Chairman Bisi and Accord Chairman Victor Akande, the parties accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of lobbying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to release unclaimed PVCs.

They alleged that non-indigenes were being mobilized during the registration process. The PDP and Accord emphasized that INEC must adhere strictly to legal templates for PVC distribution and warned against any circumvention of the commission's protocols.

They claimed that thousands of PVCs were being manipulated by the APC and demanded that INEC monitor the PVC process closely. The parties also insisted on transparency from INEC regarding the collection and review of unclaimed cards, linking their concerns to potential exploitation similar to what occurred in the Ekiti elections.
