Osun State Governorship Election Results Begin to Emerge

The Osun State governorship election is currently underway, with results beginning to emerge from various polling units as voting and ballot counting conclude. Official voting closed at 2:30 p.m., but voters in line before the deadline were still allowed to cast their ballots.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is overseeing the election, with 2,339,233 registered voters, of which 1,954,800 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards. Fifteen candidates are contesting, but the primary focus is on three leading contenders: incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress.

Results from the 30 local government areas in Osun are expected to continue emerging, with INEC responsible for the final outcome declaration after collation.
