Oyebanji Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Re-election Victory

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election following the August 15, 2026, governorship election, which was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning. In a statement from his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji described Adeleke's victory as a reflection of the majority's wishes among Osun State voters.

He urged Adeleke to be magnanimous in victory and to seek input from other candidates to foster a collaborative administration. Oyebanji also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing a level playing field during the election, which he stated reduced tension and ensured a credible contest.

He congratulated Bola Oyebamiji, the APC candidate, for being a worthy challenger and encouraged Osun APC members to regroup for future elections. Oyebanji emphasized that the election outcome should not be misinterpreted regarding public sentiment towards President Tinubu ahead of the January 2027 presidential election.
