Tinubu Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Election Victory

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, following his victory in the Osun State governorship election. Pelumi Olajengbesi, a chieftain of the Accord Party, revealed that Tinubu personally called Adeleke on Saturday night after the results indicated Adeleke's lead over Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji garnered 444,815 votes. Olajengbesi praised Tinubu for not interfering in the electoral process, allowing Osun residents to choose their governor freely.

However, he criticized certain aspects of the election, noting incidents of violence that marred the process. The election involved 15 political parties, with a total of 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards collected in the state.

Amidst the election, singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, criticized Tinubu for the security measures taken during the poll, alleging they undermined democracy.
