Accord Party Strengthens Ahead of Osun Gubernatorial Poll

On Saturday, Adewale Egbedun, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, disclosed that the Accord Party is gaining strength ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial elections. This announcement follows the defection of 500 members from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Accord Party during a rally held in Inisa, Odo Otin Local Government Area.

Egbedun expressed confidence in the party's ability to secure victory, citing the current administration's performance as a key factor. He urged electoral authorities to uphold transparency and integrity in the voting process to ensure free and fair elections.

The defector, Kazeem Abdulrashe, criticized the internal structure of the APC, alleging that it has become concentrated in the hands of a few individuals, which he claims has damaged the state. The forthcoming elections will see Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election on the Accord platform, while Bola Oyebamiji will represent the APC and Najeem Salaam will contest for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
