Accord Party Aspirants Demand Fair Primaries in Osun

Aspirants from the Accord Party in Osun State are calling for free and fair primaries as they prepare for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2027. In a press statement signed by Lekan Lamuy, the aspirants insist on maintaining the current zoning arrangement within the Iwo State Constituency, which comprises various wards.

They argue that this arrangement has historically ensured fairness and representation. The current member of the House representing the constituency, Rabiu Adesina, recently defected from the Accord Party to the Progress Congress, which has raised concerns among the aspirants about the integrity of the primary process.

The aspirants, including notable figures from different wards, have unanimously agreed that whoever emerges from their list of ten candidates must undergo a transparent and credible selection process to receive their full support. They aim to work collaboratively to ensure the success of the Accord Party in the upcoming elections.
