PDP Faces Internal Crisis Over Support for Adeleke

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State is experiencing significant internal strife as the state leadership has publicly backed Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party. State Chairman Sundai Bisi has directed PDP members to support Adeleke, which has provoked strong opposition from a faction within the party.

This group, known as the reset group, has called for the immediate dissolution of the state working committee, accusing it of actions that undermine the PDP's electoral prospects. They allege that the state leadership endorsed Adeleke without the approval of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) and are concerned about plans that may prevent PDP members from contesting elections on the party platform.

The reset group has criticized Bisi for aligning with the faction loyal to Minister Nyesom Wike, suggesting that this alignment threatens the party's integrity and electoral viability. They demand urgent reconciliation to restore unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
