Osun Imam and Three Others Arrested Over Worshipper's Death in Mosque Altercation

The Osun State Police Command apprehended an Imam and three others after a worshipper, Najeem Ham, died during a confrontation at the Central Mosque in Ogo Oluwa. The incident transpired when Ham allegedly attempted to hit the Imam, Ummu Hanni Adigun, with a microphone stand during prayers.

Ham was subsequently dragged outside the mosque and beaten by worshippers. He later succumbed to his injuries at Osun State Teaching Hospital.

The altercation reportedly stemmed from Ham's displeasure with the Imam's sermon, leading to a physical altercation that resulted in his death. The police have arrested four suspects connected to the incident and have initiated an investigation.

The deceased's family and friends have expressed outrage over the incident, with tensions escalating to threats of further violence during Friday prayers. The police have deployed additional personnel to maintain law and order in the area.
