Ikirun Kingmakers Support Adeleke's Peace Efforts

The kingmakers of Ikirun, Osun State, have publicly backed Governor Ademola Adeleke's initiative to prevent potential crises in the town. They issued a statement on Thursday, condemning the actions of Chief Abdulkareem Adetoye, the Eesa of Ikirunland, who they accused of undermining community peace and misleading the public regarding the appointment of a new king.

The kingmakers emphasized that Adetoye's nocturnal activities could disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of Ikirun. They praised the Osun State Government's white paper, released on January 25, 2024, concerning the Akinrun stool, and commended law enforcement for their swift intervention to prevent violence.

The statement also highlighted the need for the community to maintain peace and avoid violent actions. The kingmakers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring peace at all times, especially in light of the ongoing legal matters regarding the Akinrun stool, which is currently vacant.
