Osun Lawmaker Wole Ok Awards Scholarships to 1,240 Students

Wole Ok, a representative from the Osun State House of Assembly, awarded scholarships to 1,240 students across nine technical schools in Osun State. This initiative, launched in 2021, aims to promote technical education among youth.

A total of 469 students from the Government Technical College in Osogbo benefited, alongside others from various locations including 150 from Ijebu Ijesa, 39 from Ara, 109 from Inisa, 88 from Otan Ayegbaju, 12 from Gbongan, and 12 from Osu. The scholarship covers school fees, enrollment charges, lesson fees, and related expenses, costing N15 million per term and N40 million per academic session.

Ok described this initiative as a strategic effort to tackle unemployment and enhance self-reliance among youth. He emphasized the importance of vocational education in equipping young people with relevant skills, not just for job preparation but also for creating job opportunities.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, promising to make the most of the opportunity.
