Adeleke to Meet Tinubu Over ₦130 Billion LG Fund Dispute

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is set to meet with President Bola Tinubu to address a dispute involving ₦130 billion in local government funds that have allegedly been withheld. Sources indicate that the meeting is part of efforts to seek a political resolution to the impasse surrounding the control and disbursement of these funds, which have become subjects of court actions and political controversy.

The meeting follows reports that Toni Elumelu, chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), recently met with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa to discuss the status of the local government funds managed by the bank. Allegations of mismanagement have led to court actions restraining the bank from further disbursing these funds until the legal matters are resolved.

Additionally, there are concerns regarding unauthorized disbursements and potential criminal prosecution of bank officials. The meeting will also examine the role of former Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola in managing these funds.
