Labour Party Chieftain Calls for Reconciliation in Osun

Gideon Aloba, a chieftain of the Labour Party in Osun State, has urged for reconciliation within the party to resolve ongoing factional crises that could jeopardize its future as the 2027 general elections approach. Aloba, a former House of Representatives candidate for the party in 2023, expressed concern over the deepening divisions within the party, describing the situation as troubling.

He highlighted that prolonged factional disputes could undermine the party's efforts and sacrifices made by its members. Aloba cautioned that internal conflicts reflect poorly on the party's interests and called for genuine dialogue and compromise among stakeholders.

He noted that the Labour Party's internal strife has already resulted in its conspicuous absence from the final list of gubernatorial candidates in Osun State. Aloba proposed the formation of a high-powered reconciliation delegation, jointly led by Darlington Nwokocha and Alhaji Umar Farouk, to produce a white paper outlining a clear path forward within two weeks.

He emphasized the importance of unity over personal victories to strengthen the party's platform.
