Tosin Odeyemi Resigns from NNPP, Joins DLA as Chairman

Tosin Odeyemi resigned from his position as the Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on July 16, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the NNPP National Chairman, he did not disclose the reasons for his decision.

Following his resignation, Odeyemi was appointed as the pioneer acting chairman of the Democrat Leadership Alliance (DLA) in Osun State, with the appointment letter dated July 17, 2026, and signed by DLA National Chairman Samuel Memeh. This appointment was approved by the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) and is effective immediately.

As acting chairman, Odeyemi is expected to establish and maintain effective party structures across the state, uphold the party's constitution and ideology, and report directly to the National Working Committee on the progress of the state chapter. Odeyemi expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and emphasized the importance of unity and discipline within the party.
