NNPP Allocates 50% Legislative Tickets to Women in Osun

The Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has announced that it will concede 50% of its legislative tickets for the 2027 general elections to female candidates. This decision was made public by the Osun NNPP chairman, Tosin Odeyemi, during a primary election held at the party's secretariat in Osogbo.

Odeyemi stated that the party recognizes the capacity of women to deliver votes and aims to improve their chances in the upcoming elections. He urged candidates to focus on issue-based campaigns rather than engaging in calumny.

Folasayo Makind, the NNPP's senatorial candidate for Osun West, encouraged women to take a more active role in politics and not play second fiddle to male politicians. The NNPP's commitment to women's representation is seen as a strategic move to enhance their electoral success in both the 2027 legislative elections and the 2026 governorship elections in Osun State.
