Police Warn Criminals Ahead of 2026 Osun-Osogbo Festival

The Osun State Police Command has warned cultists, hoodlums, thieves, and other criminal elements against exploiting the upcoming 2026 Osun-Osogbo Festival to commit offenses. This warning was articulated in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on behalf of Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan.

The police assured residents, visitors, tourists, and worshippers of adequate security before, during, and after the festival. They emphasized that anyone attempting to disrupt public peace would face severe legal consequences.

The festival, recognized internationally, attracts thousands, necessitating comprehensive security arrangements to protect lives and property. Security personnel will be deployed at major venues, access roads, and other strategic locations.

The police will collaborate with government agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to enhance coordination and address any security challenges. Residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
