Police Warn Against Electoral Manipulation in Osun Poll

Samuel Erale Etaifo, the Osun State Commissioner of Police on Election, issued a warning to politicians and electoral actors against manipulating the upcoming governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026. He stated that anyone found violating electoral laws would be arrested and prosecuted in Abuja.

CP Etaifo outlined the security preparations for the election, asserting that the authorities aim to provide a level playing field for all political actors and ensure voters can freely exercise their rights. He emphasized that the election is a federal electoral process and that security agencies, including the police and military, would collaborate to protect voters and election personnel.

Additionally, he urged parents to allow their children serving as NYSC corps members to participate in election duties, assuring that their safety is a priority and that adequate measures are in place to protect them during their national service.
