Osun PDP Caretaker Committee Rejects Adeleke's Endorsement

The Osun State caretaker committee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has distanced itself from the endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election bid under the Accord platform. This decision was announced by Bisi, the previous chair of the party's state working committee, during a meeting in Osogbo.

Bisi urged party members to support Adeleke's second term ambitions for the 2026 governorship elections. However, Seyi Bamidel, the caretaker committee secretary, described the endorsement as invalid and lacking effect, stating that it was issued without proper authority.

Bamidel emphasized that the party's national leadership holds the power to make such decisions, and any individual cannot dissolve the party's structure. The caretaker committee insists that the Osun PDP remains intact and focused on contesting the upcoming elections under its own banner, maintaining loyalty to the party while mobilizing for the gubernatorial elections scheduled for August 15.
