Osun PDP Factions Clash Over Adeleke's Reelection Bid

The Osun State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is currently facing a division over the reelection bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke for the 2026 governorship election. Bisi Bisi, the state chairman, has urged party members to support Adeleke's bid, citing achievements during his administration, including infrastructure projects and healthcare improvements.

This directive was issued during a stakeholders' meeting in Osogbo. However, Seyi Bamidel, the secretary of the dissolved state working committee, has rejected Bisi's directive, claiming it is null and void due to a lack of constitutional authority.

Bamidel emphasized that the party's structure remains intact and that the dissolution of the executive committee was not legitimate. The internal conflict highlights the ongoing struggle within the PDP in Osun State as it prepares for the upcoming gubernatorial elections on August 15.
