Osun PDP Endorses Adeleke Amid Internal Divisions

The Osun State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has publicly endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for re-election, despite facing internal divisions. State chairman Bisi addressed the media in Osogbo on Thursday, rejecting claims of his removal from office, which he described as unconstitutional.

Bisi maintained that he remains the duly elected chairman of the party and that the party's structure is valid. He disclosed that the PDP in Osun will not field a candidate in the August governorship election but will instead support Adeleke's re-election.

Acknowledging tensions within the party, Bisi stated that the elected officials in the state continue to align with the current state executive. Former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola emphasized that the PDP remains a viable political force in Osun, despite reports of Adeleke's defection.

Oyinlola also dismissed claims that the party's structure in the state is collapsing, asserting that the party is open to future political developments.
