Adeleke's Campaign Challenges APC Ahead of Osun Election

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has responded to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, dismissing the APC's confidence as expressed by its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

Yilwatda compared the APC's political strength to a "trailer" and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a "Keke Napep," asserting that the APC would defeat the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke. In a statement on Tuesday, Hon.

Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Imole Campaign Council, criticized this comparison as politically arrogant, arguing that elections are determined by the electorate's decisions rather than the number of political figures a party can gather. Salam emphasized that the August 15 election would hinge on Adeleke's record in office, which includes achievements in various sectors.

The Council also claimed that the APC's candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, lacks the popularity to mobilize voters independently and urged the APC to focus on issue-based campaigning.
